Caramelized Onion Dip

- 4 tablespoons Violife Plant Butter
- 2 large sweet onions, coarsely chopped (about 5 to 6 cups)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 (8-ounce) packages Violife Just Like Cream Cheese Block
- 4 teaspoons tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme, plus additional for garnish
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- crackers or chips for serving
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet, melt Plant Butter over medium heat. Add onions and salt and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until golden, about 25 minutes. Add garlic and flour and cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let onions cool slightly, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in cream cheese, tamari, thyme and onion powder. Turn into 9-inch pie plate or 1-quart baking dish. Bake 20 minutes or until hot. Serve with crackers or chips for dipping.
