French Toast with Creamy Glaze

Who doesn't love French toast? Make your own glaze with Violife Creamy and enjoy topped with your favourite berries.

  • 2 - 3 tsp Violife vioblock for frying
  • 2 cups oat milk
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 5 slices of thick vegan brioche bread
FOR THE GLAZE:
  • 5 tbsp Violife creamy original
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • zest of half an orange
TO GARNISH:
  • icing sugar
  • fresh raspberries
  • fresh blueberries
  • fresh strawberries
  1. To make the glaze, in a pot over medium heat melt 3 tablespoons of Violife Creamy.
  2. Remove from heat and add in the remaining 2 tablespoons Violife Creamy. Whisk until melted and add in the remaining ingredients until nice and smooth.
  3. In a medium flat bowl, combine the oat milk, syrup, salt, corn starch and vanilla essence and whisk well.
  4. Dip your bread slices in the mixture one slice at a time, coating both sides evenly.
  5. Heat a medium pan over medium heat and melt some VIOBLOCK.
  6. Fry the French toast for 2-3 minutes on each side, flipping onto both sides until nice and golden.
  7. Stack the French toast slices on a plate and drizzle with the creamy glaze.
  8. Decorate with fresh berries and icing sugar.
